5 April

£10 in the draw! Is it YOUR Lucky Day? It was a lucky day in 1621 when the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, Massachusetts on a return trip to England and also in 1847 when Birkenhead Park opened in Birkenhead, the first civic public park in Britain. In 1904, the first international rugby league match was played between England and an Other Nationalities team (Welsh & Scottish players) in Central Park, Wigan, England and in 1951, boxing challenger Jess Willard knocked out Jack Johnson in Havana, Cuba to become the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Famous people born on this day include Gregory Peck, American actor, political activist, and producer, born 1916, Tom Finney, English footballer, born 1922, Jane Asher, English actress, born 1946 and Anthony Horowitz, English author, born 1955. Now who to dedicate the day to? Think it has to be Gregory Peck!

“You have to dream, you have to have a vision, and you have to set a goal for yourself that might even scare you a little because sometimes that seems far beyond your reach.”

Have a dream filled lucky day!
