12 April

£10 to one lucky winner! IS IT YOU? It was lucky in 1937 when Sir Frank Whittle ground-tested the first jet engine designed to power an aircraft, at Rugby in England and, in 1955, the polio vaccine, developed by Dr Jonas Salk, was declared safe and effective. In 1961, the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel into outer space and perform the first manned orbital flight, Vostok 1. Finally, in 1992, the Euro Disney Resort officially opened with its theme park Euro Disneyland. (It was subsequently changed to Disneyland Paris.)

Famous people born on this day include Bobby Moore, English footballer and manager, born 1941, David Cassidy, American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and actor, born 1950, and Claire Danes, American actress and producer, born 1979.

So who is the day dedicated to? It has to be David Cassidy. of course! (If only to keep my mum happy!) Enjoy!

It's not about the fame and the money because if you do good work all the stuff comes.

Have a lucky day my friend!
