7 March

Welcome to the 7th of March, a lucky day that saw Alexander Graham Bell being granted a patent for an invention he called the "telephone" in 1876, and, in 1912, Roald Amundsen announced his expedition had reached the South Pole on December 14, 1911. He probably could have done with a telephone back then so he could tell everyone the news sooner rather than wait till he got back three months later! Also on this day, in 1985, the song "We Are the World" was released internationally.

Famous people born on this day include Ranulph Fiennes, English soldier and explorer born, born 1944; Viv Richards, Caribbean cricketer and footballer, born 1952; Rik Mayall, English comedian, actor, and screenwriter, born 1958; Bret Easton Ellis, American author and screenwriter, born 1964, and finally Rachel Weisz, English-American actress, born 1970.

But the day goes to another actor born on this day in 1956. Hello Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad!

"You clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in.
I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger.
A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me?
No! I am the one who knocks!"

Hope you have a lucky day and no-one knocks on your door!
