19 March

New draw! £10 to win! Is it your lucky day? It was in 1932 when the Sydney Harbour Bridge opened, and it certainly was for Joey Giardello in 1954, when he knocked out Willie Tory in round seven at Madison Square Garden in the first televised prize boxing fight shown in colour. Finally, in 1962, Bob Dylan released his first album, Bob Dylan, on Columbia Records label.

Famous people born on this day include David Livingstone, Scottish missionary and explorer, born 1813; Tommy Cooper, Welsh comedian and magician, born 1921; Philip Roth, American author, born 1933; and Harvey Weinstein, American director and producer, born 1952. However, the day is dedicated to a woman you wouldn't ask to baby sit your pet rabbit – Glen Close, born on this day in 1947:

The best thing I have is the knife from Fatal Attraction. I hung it in my kitchen. It's my way of saying, Don't mess with me.

It always amazes me to think that every house on every street is full of so many stories; so many triumphs and tragedies, and all we see are yards and driveways.

Have a bunny-boiler free, lucky day my friend!
