1 March

There are far too many lucky events to celebrate on 1st March Where do we begin? Well, lets start in 1565 when the city of Rio de Janeiro was founded and then move swiftly to 1642 when Georgeana, Massachusetts (now known as York, Maine) became the first incorporated city in the United States. Following this in 1872, Yellowstone National Park was established, becoming the world's first national park. On this day in 1873, E. Remington and Sons began production of the first practical (is there any other kind?) typewriter and in 1912, Albert Berry made the first parachute jump from a moving airplane (as opposed to a non-moving plane?!) In 1936, the Hoover Dam was completed and in 1998, Titanic became the first film to gross over $1 billion worldwide (why Rose didn't give Jack the life jacket she was wearing? This has always puzzled me!). And finally, in 2006, Wikipedia reached its one millionth article. It was on Jordanhill railway station -check it out!

People born on this lucky day include Frédéric Chopin, Polish pianist and composer, born 1810; Roger Daltrey from The Who (“I hope I die before I get old”) was born 1944; American actor and producer Ron Howard (remember him in Happy Days?), born 1954, and, in 1969, the wonderful Spanish actor Javier Bardem was born.

However, the day has to go to a Canadian singer born on this day in 1994 who shot to fame on YouTube, yes, it' s Justin Bieber everyone!

“I'm telling you, people. Everyday we wake up is another blessing. Follow your dreams and don't let anyone stop you. Never say never.”

“Haters will say what they want, but their hate will never stop you from chasing your dream”

Oh baby, baby, baby, oh! I have to admit I do feel bad I didn't dedicate the day to Chopin but guilty pleasures rule every time! Have a wonderful lucky day my friend, and remember, never say never!
