7 February

Hello 7 February, what lucky events happened on this day I wonder? Well, in 1935 the classic board game Monopoly was invented and in 1940 the second full-length animated Walt Disney film, Pinocchio, premièred. The Beatles arrived in the United States for the first time on this day in 1964, so it seems quite appropriate that Kool & the Gang were number one in the US in 1981 with ‘Celebration’.

Normally I would be celebrate the day with a cool song, such as Paul Simon’s ‘50 Ways to Leave Your Lover’, which was number one in the US on this day in 1976 (‘You just slip out the back, Jack / Make a new plan, Stan/ You don't need to be coy, Roy/ Just get yourself free’) but this is a great day for wit. First, Eddie Izzard was born on this day in 1962 (‘I wanna live 'til I die, no more, no less’) but it is also the birthday of the great author Charles Dickens, born on this day in 1812:

Have a wonderfully lucky day my friend and do check our website in case today is your lucky day and you have won!
