26 February

Now this is a brilliant, lucky day! In 1909, Kinemacolor, the first successful colour motion picture process, was first shown to the general public at the Palace Theatre in London and, in 1917, the Original Dixieland Jass Band recorded the first jazz record, for the Victor Talking Machine Company in New York. A great day for US National Parks too as in 1919 President Woodrow Wilson signed an act of the U.S. Congress establishing most of the Grand Canyon as a United States National Park (the Grand Canyon National Park). Ten years later, President Calvin Coolidge signed an Executive Order establishing the 96,000 acre Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

The 26 February is also a lucky day to be born as in 1802, Victor Hugo, French author, poet, and playwright was born and in 1932, American singer-songwriter and guitarist, Johnny Cash was born (“Sometimes I am two people. Johnny is the nice one. Cash causes all the trouble. They fight.”) But the day goes to the businessmen born on this day, who developed brands and products we still love today. In 1829, Levi Strauss, German-American fashion designer, who founded Levi Strauss & Co, was born, and in 1852, John Harvey Kellogg, an American surgeon who co-created Corn flakes, was born. Now don’t mind me as I eat my cereal in my Levi jeans!

Have a lucky day my friend and remember, today is a Friday which means a new lucky day has been drawn! Good luck!
