25 February

And so we come to 25 February, a day which saw Charles Jenkins Laboratories of Washington, D.C. become the first holder of a broadcast license for television from the Federal Radio Commission in 1928, and the English author, poet, playwright, and critic, Anthony Burgess, born in 1917. Also born on this day in 1945 was Elkie Brooks, English singer-songwriter. Ah! I remember my Dad singing 'Pearl's a Singer'! You don't know it? Check it out on You Tube.

But it isn't Elkie to whom this day is dedicated too. No. It goes to an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer, who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist in a little known band called The Beatles. George Harrison, born on this day in 1943, we salute you:

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

As long as you hate, there will be people to hate.

When you've seen beyond yourself, then you may find, peace of mind is waiting there.

Have a peace-filled day my friend!

And remember to check if your lucky day has been drawn! It was a rollover so there is £20 in the draw and it hasn't been claimed yet!
