15 February

Hello, 15th of February, what lucky events do you have in store for us? Well, on this day in 1879, US President Rutherford B. Hayes signed a bill allowing female attorneys to argue cases before the Supreme Court of the United States, a major step forward in the fight for women’s rights in the US. In 1965, the new red-and-white maple leaf design was adopted as the flag of Canada, replacing the old Canadian Red Ensign banner, and in 1874 the Irish explorer, Ernest Shackleton, was born.

Also born on this day in 1951 was Jane Seymour, an English-American actress who said “Beauty is a radiance that originates from within and comes from inner security and strong character.” In the world of music, Ali Campbell, English singer-songwriter and guitarist for UB40 was born on this day in 1959 and number one on the US Billboard in 1986 was Whitney Houston with "How Will I Know" – good question Whitney! We still don’t know the answer!

But the day goes to Matt Groening, American animator, producer, and screenwriter for The Simpsons who was born on this day in 1954:

“Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?”

We agree entirely Matt! Wishing you a sweet jam filled lucky day my friend!
