14 February

No doubt this day has been celebrated by many loved-up couples over the years, and I am sure you are expecting a love filled post about all the romantic things that have happened on this day. Nah! We stick to what we know – a selection of random but lucky events that fall on this day for pure amusement!

On this day in 1899, voting machines were approved by the U.S. Congress for use in federal elections and in 1912 Arizona was admitted as the 48th U.S. State. In 1920, the League of Women Voters was founded in Chicago and in 2005, YouTube was launched by a group of college students, eventually becoming the largest video sharing website in the world and a main source for viral videos. However, my favourite lucky event for this day is the fact that George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr., an American engineer, was born in 1859. George only went on to invent the Ferris Wheel! Love that man!

However, the day is actually dedicated to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London, which was founded on this day in 1852. It was the first hospital in England to provide in-patient beds specifically for children and is our charity of the month.

Wishing you a 'Ferris wheel' fun lucky day my friend and thank you for your support of the Free Lucky Day Lottery.
