23 January

Got to love 23 January – a day of profound importance! Why? Well, on this day in 1849, Elizabeth Blackwell became the first female doctor in the United States and, in 1997, Madeleine Albright became the first woman to serve as United States Secretary of State. What could possibly rival these events? Well, brace yourself, but on 23 January 1957, Walter Frederick Morrison only went and sold the rights to his flying disc to the Wham-O toy company who renamed it the "Frisbee"! Oh yes he did! Thank goodness for Olivia Newton-John to bring us back down to earth with her number one hit on the US Billboard in 1982, "Physical". Sing along now!

"Let me hear your body talk, your body talk!"
